Fall is a great time to plant trees to help diversify species on your property. Try to choose trees that are native and adapted to your location, then properly plant it. Texas celebrates Arbor Day this year on November 1. Looking for trees to plant on your property? Our West Texas Nursery grows native seedlings. Learn about our central Texas seedling sale here.
Also, we are now in a less-risky time of year to prune your oak trees, but always remember to paint your cuts immediately!
From February through June, the sap-feeding beetle that can carry the oak wilt fungal spores are most active during this time. Do NOT prune your oaks during this window to reduce the possibility of new infections. To learn more about preventing new infections, visit Oak Wilt Management.
